Configure AI Intake Defaults
Choose the AI agent name, check-in timing, reminders, and video default.
Configure the four clinic-facing defaults for AI-assisted pre-visit intake.
Who does this: Clinic administrators.
Steps
Open Settings.
Open Clinical Workflow, then select AI Intake Defaults.
Set Agent Name to the name the AI agent should use with patients. Clinics without a saved name use Jason.
Set Check-in Lead Time to the number of minutes before an appointment when the patient should receive their AI check-in.
Turn Enable Reminders on or off.
Turn Enable Video on to allow video after the patient gives video consent, or turn it off to keep AI intake audio-only. Video is on for clinics without a saved video preference.
Select Save changes.
The updated defaults apply to AI-assisted pre-visit intake unless an appointment type has its own supported override.
Technical limits, reminder cadence, recording policy, retention, voice, and consent requirements are managed by Summit's backend configuration.
Create and edit AI pre-visit templates under Clinical Workflow → Templates → Clinical Templates → AI Pre-Visit Templates. Enable AI intake and select the appropriate template on each appointment type. The appointment type's Enable Pre-Visit AI Intake switch is the on/off control for that workflow.
Create and edit AI usage consent under Clinical Workflow → Templates → Consent Templates. Consent selection and safe fallback wording are managed outside AI Intake Defaults.
Troubleshooting
AI pre-visit intake is not running. Check that AI pre-visit intake is enabled on the appointment type and that it has a published AI pre-visit template.
Consent is required but missing. Confirm an active AI usage consent exists under Consent Templates.
